Important information about people awaiting gun repairs for tomorrow

Just had a phone call and my dad has been knocked off his bike on the way home from work.
He''s in hospital in Hammersmith, so I''m going down there with mum and Faulty to make sure he''s ok.
I don''t know if I''ll have time to get everyone''s guns ready for tomorrow but I will try.

VCR act Reminder

It appears some people are still confused over the impact of the VCR act.

I''ll try and repeat myself in very simple terms.

It will be ILLEGAL after the 1st October to:
IMPORT airsoft guns
BE SOLD airsoft guns
MANUFACTURE airsoft guns

If you are a registered member of an airsoft site which holds PLI (Public Liability Insurance) then you are covered by a specific defence and there fore are allowed to:

IMPORT airsoft guns
BE SOLD airsoft guns
MANUFACTURE airsoft guns

Except if you are under 18 where it will be illegal to:
BUY airsoft guns
BE SOLD airsoft guns

Legislative changes that affect airsoft from 1st October 2007

As many of you will (hopefully) be aware, there''s a rather pointless piece of legislation coming into effect from the 1st October.
It''s the Violent Crime Reduction act 2006.

From 1st October, it will be illegal to be sold, manufacture or import a realistic imitation firearm, such as an airsoft gun unless you are a member of an airsoft site which holds public liability insurance (such as Finmere).
If you are under 18, then it will be illegal to buy or to be sold an imitation firearm - it is not illegal to own!

What does this mean?
Well, if you''re a signed up member of an airsoft site with public liability insurance, it doesn''t make much difference.
There is a specific defence for us, so we can continue to be sold, manufacture and import RIFs.

If you''re under 18, then there''s another section of the act which the defence doesn''t cover, so it''s still illegal for you to buy or be sold RIFs.

So to re-cap:
It will be illegal to sell an airsoft gun to anyone who is not a member of a site which public liability insurance.
It will be illegal to sell an airsoft gun to anyone who is under 18 no matter what.
It will be illegal to buy an airsoft gun if you are under 18 no matter what.

Therefore, if you are selling airsoft guns, it is your responsibility to ensure that the person buying is over 18 and a signed up member of an airsoft site which has public liability insurance.

Details of Finmere membership will be released as soon as they are finalised, so don''t panic.
